We proudly serve Glenshire, Devonshire, The Meadows, Juniper Hills, Buckhorn Ridge, and Cambridge Estates. With our headquarters located right here in Glenshire, we provide fast and reliable service response throughout the season.

Seasonal Snow Removal

Our contract season runs November 1st through May 1st. We begin our plowing route once snow accumulates to 4 inches on Glenshire Drive. After completing the plowing route, we start berm clearing once the Town of Truckee has safely cleared the roads. All seasonal contracts include free residential snow pole installation.

Berm Removal Contracts: Seasonal service for berm removal and mailbox clearing—ideal for homeowners who prefer to clear their own driveways but want to avoid dealing with the frozen snow left behind by town plows.

On-Call Emergency Service: One-time or emergency plowing available when you need it. Perfect for vacation rental properties or when you’re traveling and want to return to a clear driveway without the hassle.

Our Equipment

We use Bobcat Toolcat snowblowers that minimize impact on driveways and landscaping, significantly reducing the damage that larger equipment can cause. Our fleet also includes four-wheel drive trucks equipped with hydraulic plows, primarily used for road maintenance and berm clearing.

SPE Snow Removal is a family-owned local business serving North Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Shawn is a licensed contractor with over 35 years of experience in the area. Gina manages operations and, when winter storms hit, you’ll find her behind the wheel of one of our plow trucks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plowing Trigger: Plowing begins when snow accumulates to at least 4 inches on Glenshire Drive.

Service Frequency: You will receive one driveway clearing per 24-hour period. Additional plowing within the same 24-hour period is available for an additional service fee.

Berm Removal: Berms will be removed within 24 hours after streets have been plowed and cleared.

Service Timing: SPE cannot commit to specific start times as service depends on weather conditions and storm timing.

Weather Delays: SPE is not responsible for delays caused by weather, acts of God, or necessary equipment repairs.

Snow Removal Coverage: Service includes naturally fallen snow on driveways during the storm. Service does not include snow that has been shoveled from walkways, decks, or vehicles after the driveway has already been cleared.

Snow Poles: SPE will mark driveways with snow poles free of charge to prevent damage to landscape or property. Please do not remove snow poles. If you notice damaged or missing snow poles, please inform SPE and we will replace them at no charge.

Driveway Obstructions: Items such as firewood, tools, bicycles, and ladders left in driveways during storms must be clearly marked to avoid contact with snow removal equipment. You will be charged for equipment repair, rental equipment costs, and attorney fees if necessary.

Equipment Disclaimer: Customer understands that heavy-duty snow removal equipment may result in damage to driveway surfaces or adjacent property.

Cancellation Policy: If you wish to cancel your contract for any reason, SPE will charge $100 per plow for services rendered up until January 1st. After January 1st, no refunds will be issued.
